WHAT ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS?

Welcome to RepealTheFees.com. This website is operated by a group of volunteer San Diego residents who are gauging support for a possible citizen-led initiative under Proposition 218 to repeal or reduce the City of San Diego’s trash collection fee and paid parking programs. We are not a formal ballot measure committee, we do not raise or spend money, and we are not affiliated with any political party or candidate.

By using this website and/or submitting your information (name, email, zip code, etc.), you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Purpose & Informal Nature. This site exists only to gauge public support for a potential ballot measure. Signing up or contacting us does not create any legal obligation, contract, or membership. We may use your contact information solely to update you on this effort. We are not a campaign committee and no contributions are being accepted.
  2. Privacy. We collect only the information you voluntarily provide (e.g., name, email, comments). We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law or to send you updates about this initiative effort. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
  3. Content & Disclaimers. The information on this site is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. Opinions expressed are those of individual volunteers and do not represent the City of San Diego or any government entity. We make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of the content.
  4. Intellectual Property. Content on this site (text, graphics, logos) is owned by us or used with permission. You may not copy or redistribute without written consent.
  5. Governing Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

WHAT IS THE PRIVACY POLICY?

RepealTheFees.com is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains our privacy practices and applies only to repealthefees.com. It does not apply to any other websites.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information you voluntarily provide when you sign up or contact us, such as your name, email address, zip code, and any comments you choose to share.

We also automatically collect standard technical information whenever you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser type, and device information. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies (more below).

We do not collect payment information, occupation/employer data, or any donation-related information because we do not accept contributions.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to operate the website and keep you updated about the grassroots effort to explore a possible Proposition 218 initiative to repeal or reduce the City of San Diego’s trash collection fee and parking fees.

Sharing and Disclosure of Your Information

Your personal information is kept confidential and is shared only in these limited circumstances:

  • With trusted third-party service providers (e.g., email delivery services like Mailchimp or Webflow’s built-in tools) strictly to send you updates you requested.
  • When we believe it is required by law (e.g., subpoena or court order).

  • In emergencies involving danger of death or serious physical injury.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with political candidates, campaigns, organizations, or any third parties for marketing or any other purpose beyond delivering the updates you signed up for.

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit any information on this site.

We use cookies to make the site function properly and to understand how visitors use it. We may use Webflow analytics and/or Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and to improve the site. These tools collect only anonymized or pseudonymous data (IP address, pages viewed, etc.) – we do not combine them with your name or email. Your Choices

  • You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every message.
  • You can request to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing info@repealthefees.com. We will respond within the time required by law (usually 45 days under CCPA/CPRA).
  • We do not sell your personal information, so no opt-out of sale is necessary.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption, access controls, secure hosting via Webflow) to protect your information. However, no website can guarantee 100% security.

California Residents’ Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to:

  • Access that information
  • Request deletion
  • Opt out of any “sale” (we do not sell your data)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no uniform standard.
